OverviewReporting to an Associate of the firm, the Mechanical Engineer will be working on a wide variety of construction-related projects.
In flight examples include K-12 school renovations, assisted living facilities, office fit outs, community buildings, government support facilities, higher education buildings, and multi-family units - all in different phases of the project lifecycle.
On a day-to-day basis, the Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for:
Performing HVAC and plumbing calculations and analysis.
Creating layouts of primary and secondary mechanical and plumbing systems including central plants.
Meeting with vendors for major equipment selections.
Performing field investigations, site visits, and surveying of existing buildings / systems.
Performing cost estimating.
Assisting in developing control sequences of operationMeeting with clients and coordinating design requirements.
Developing construction specifications.
Developing energy models for life cycling and green initiatives.
Performing construction administration including shop drawing review, RFIs, change orders, and punchouts.
RequirementsPossess a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar engineering degree.
Possess a minimum of three (3) years of mechanical engineering experience, specifically in designing and building mechanical systems for construction projects.
Possess experience in HVAC and plumbing systems design.
Possess experience in AutoCAD and Revit.
Possess a willingness to perform field investigation / survey work.
Possess an energetic and outgoing personality with a desire to learn from experienced professionals while contributing to challenging designs.
PreferencesPossess an Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification.
Possess a Professional Engineer (PE) Certification.
Possess a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certification.
Possess fire protection system design experience.
Possess direct experience working for an MEP Consulting firm.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
