Assistant Teacher - Tangram

As an Assistant Teacher for Tangram, our nonpublic separate day school for students with autism, you will be responsible for providing instruction to individual learners and small groups utilizing applied behavior analysis methodology and completing program management tasks to support that instruction.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following:
Under the direction of the Teacher, provides individualized instruction and support to an assigned student or small group of students.
May act as Substitute Teacher during times of Teacher absence.
Maintains a safe learning environment for students within the scope of The Arrow Center for Education administrative policies and procedures.
Supervises and manages student behavior in the classroom, school and school-sponsored functions Utilizes a variety of teaching strategies and techniques to promote progress and success with an assigned student or small group of students.
Provides a learning environment that is individualized for students and works towards their personal level of independence.
May assists the Teacher with classroom management tasks.
Train newly hired One to Ones in documentation of IEP data binders, and provide training updates and refreshers as needed Along with the Teacher, provide quality assurance as to the completion of IEP data binders Provides expertise in the area of Applied Behavior Analysis to the instructional team and academic plans are developed for students with a variety of abilities and needs Participates as an active member of the treatment team.
Communicates all appropriate information within and without the classroom orally and in writing.
Assists in the development and maintenance of a positive school culture Maintains proper rules, safety and security of students, providing crisis intervention when necessary Informs the Teacher and School Support Specialist of all relevant situations Attends trainings and meetings as required Shares/transmits the mission and vision of Arrow Child & Family Ministries to staff and to students and families served Perform all duties within contract, state and federal regulations, Arrow policy, NCASES and COA standards Other duties may be assigned as necessaryEDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCEHigh School diploma or GED and at least one (1) year experience working with children and families preferably in a school setting.
Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred.
For Assistant Teachers funded by DHR, after six months in position, must obtain Residential Child and Youth Care Practitioner certification.
Experience working with students diagnosed with autism required.
Experience utilizing Applied Behavioral Analysis and Verbal Behavior methodologies required.
Must be able to work independently, take the initiative or act without being urged to complete projects and/or work, and flexible to work effectively in an environment that is rapidly growing and changing.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS Valid driver's license Proof of current Auto Registration, Inspection and Insurance Driving Record (three years) from the state in which the driver's license is valid Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test.
Must submit to and pass random drug tests during employment.
Must successfully pass all background screens as required by the state.
Must be 21 years of age or older.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
