Teacher, Middle School Math
Immaculate Conception School, located in Towson, Maryland is seeking a Middle School Math Teacher.
The teacher would be responsible for all lessons in mathematics to students in grades 6-8, which will include a middle school homeroom.
Immaculate Conception school uses the Saxon Math program, and middle school classes may be in Course I, Course II, Course III, Algebra, or Geometry.
The mathematics program at ICS is a rigorous and very successful element of our curriculum, with students utilizing iPads as part of daily instruction.

Responsibilities:
Develop and document weekly lesson plans consistent with curriculum guidelinesProvide grade appropriate instructional program within the context of the Saxon Math systemMaintain high professional standards consistent with the mission of the school and the teachings of the Catholic ChurchResponsible for the safety and active supervision of students at all times and for classroom management using PBIS (positive behavior intervention and support) protocols.
Implement lesson plans, utilizing techniques to motivate, challenge and engage students, with a particular focus on connections to our Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) initiative.
Establish reasonable standards for student achievement, updating electronic gradebook weeklyInteract effectively and respond to all parent communication in a professional, empathetic and timely mannerParticipate in faculty meetings, retreats, school committees and in-service learning opportunitiesParticipate in the active supervision of students at all times to include arrival/dismissal, car line, recess, cafeteria, etc.
Must have the necessary classroom management skills to supervise adolescentsWork collaboratively with other teachers, staff and administrationIntegrate iPad and Smartboard technology effectively into a 21st Century classroom.
Qualifications:
Degree in Elementary or Secondary Education with a concentration in mathematicsCurrent MSDE certificationExperience teaching Saxon Math on the middle school level preferred, but not requiredExperience in a Catholic School setting is preferred, but not requiredMust be comfortable with technology including Google G-Suite for Education, Smartboards, etc.
