Assistant Director, Athletics Media Relations (Sports Media/Graphics/Web/IT)

Towson University Department of Athletics is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Athletics Media Relations. This position will be the managing editor of the Towson University Athletics website, and serve as the primary media relations contact for selected sports assigned by the Director of Athletics Media Relations while overseeing department publications and social media. The position will also assist in directing administrative operations for Athletics Media Relations.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the managing editor of the Towson University Athletics website, , supervising all content that is placed on the site while creating pages for special events; serve as the primary contact for selected sports assigned by the Director; oversee the design and production of department publications and graphic design, including posters, schedule cards, promotional items, and game programs; handle media credential requests for assigned sports; and assist with the development of a comprehensive strategic communications plan for the department using various communication tools.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and one year of full-time experience in athletics media relations or a related field. The successful candidate must have excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and web site maintenance; experience in graphic design and layout, preferably using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat; excellent professional verbal and written communication skills; the ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality; and the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations. Proficiency in StatCrew software preferred. A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
