Blakehurst is seeking a Health Care Administrative Assistant to join our team! This position is responsible for assisting the Health Center nursing and administrative staff with clerical duties.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Answers incoming calls, takes messages and relays messages using appropriate equipment.
Assists the Health Center administrative staff with clerical functions.
Schedules appointments for residents and arranges transportation with the Transportation Department.
Places order for medical supplies, medical equipment, etc.
, receives order and stocks shelves.
Gathers information for bundled charges and keeps the spreadsheet up to date for billing.
Scans in resident's medical records and attaches them to EMR via My Unity.
Submit long-term claims for recipients.
Assembles all new charts with resident's assigned medical record number, name, physician's name, and any other information pertinent to the resident, making sure all required information is complete on the medical record.
Helps maintain resident charts in an orderly manner.
Thins medical records when necessary.
Prepares emergency packets for Health Center resident records.
Assembles discharge charts in preparation for medical records review.
Coordination of destruction of medical records.
Qualifications:
High school graduate.
Ability to communicate effectively in English and perform simple arithmetic.
Microsoft Office literate.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
One year experience in a health care setting, preferable in long term care.
Requires good judgment to plan, perform and set-up sequences within standard procedures.
Requires analysis of facts and information to take action following established guidelines.
All new hires must be able to pass our preemployment screening process, which includes a fitness for duty physical, criminal background check, drug test and employment references as required by a licensed residential care facility.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
