Examples of Duties Under general supervision, plans, evaluates and coordinates the programs and activities of the Retired & Senior Volunteer Programs (RSVP) and other selected volunteer programs as requested.
Essential Job Duties Oversight of all activities related to RSVP, an AmeriCorps grant program including managing the budget, tracking data, ongoing reporting, and routine correspondence with the grant's funder.
Promotes RSVP and opportunities for volunteering with the Department of Aging through outreach, programs, and services and for other Department of Aging and/or county opportunities as requested or directed.
Recruits, screens, and connects RSVP volunteers to serve with non-profits and government agencies.
Maintains partnerships with non-profits and government agencies to expand RSVP throughout the county.
Conducts annual site visits and maintains consistent communication.
Creates new partnerships that are aligned with federally determined performance measures.
Responsible for Volunteer software programs and databases that include data required for RSVP grant.
Responsible for the supervision of RSVP Office Assistant.
Facilitates and provides staff support to RSVP Advisory Council.
Collaborates with the RSVP Advisory Council to develop educational and networking opportunities for RSVP program supervisors or administrators to meet their needs.
Composes a quarterly RSVP newsletter, articles, and social media postings to publicize current RSVP volunteer needs and spotlight volunteers.
Collaborates with other BCDA staff to coordinate an annual volunteer recognition event.

) Qualifications Required Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in gerontology, recreation, education, health, business administration, public administration, marketing, public relations, nursing specialty, accounting, or a social or behavioral science; Plus Two years' experience providing services to older adults.
(Additional experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of four years for the required education.
Education beyond a bachelor's degree may be substituted on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two years for the required experience.
